07-June-2012: India's Mahesh Bhupathi and Sania Mirza won their second mixed doubles Grand Slam title together by defeating their challengers Santiago Gonzalez of Mexico and Klaudia Jans-Ignacik of Poland by 7-6 (7/3), 6-1 in the French Open finals on 07-June-2012.
Sania and Bhupathi won the title in three straight sets during the match held at the Court Philippe Chatrier. Bhupathi, one of the most successful and talented sportsman of India turned 38 on the day of the finals and the trophy was a perfect birthday gift for him.

10-June-2012: India's ace shuttler Saina Nehwal defeated second seed Ratchanok Inthanon of Thailand 19-21, 21-15, 21-10 to lift the Thailand Open on Sunday.
This is second title to Saina Nehwal in 2012. In March 2012, Saina won Swiss Open Grand Prix Gold in Basel, Switzerland. Overall Saina won 19 titles till date.

Viswanathan Anand wins 2012 World Chess Championship
May 30, 2012: Viswanathan Anand is World Chess Champion 2012 after he defeated Boris Gelfand in the final match played in Moscow.
With equal score in the classical games (1 win and 5 draws each) the tournament was decided in a tiebreak. Anand won rapid game 2 which proved enough to retain the title he hold from Mexico 2007, Bonn 2008, and Sofia 2010.
