• Rihanna was criticized for her "Man Down" video, in which she shoots a man with a gun to get revenge on how he sexually assaulted her. Representatives from the Parents Television Council asked BET to stop airing the video because, as Paul Porter (co-founder of Industry Ears, which works to combat negative images in the media) said, "IfChris Brown shot a woman in his new video and BET premiered it, the world would stop. Rihanna should not get a pass." But yesterday, Rihanna responded to people's dislike of the video by tweeting, "I'm a 23 year old rockstar with NO KIDS! What's up with everybody wantin me to be a parent? I'm just a girl, I can only be your/our voice!... The music industry isn't exactly Parents R Us! We have the freedom to make art, LET US! It's your job to make sure they don't turn out like US.
